About

I am Ahmed Anwar, the editor of this blog. I am a photo journalist by career and a photographer by hobby.  I started my career as a freelance writer and changed course as a photo journalist. Though journalism remains my primary heartthrob, I chose  a path of my childhood vision, that of capturing human sentiments, facets of life, confronted with day to day realities, enigmas of nature and society, and delving into human psyche in all its diaspora.

Ah, did that sound like rocket science? Well, in short I wanted to be a photographer.

Between 2000 and 2003, I also published a few poems and articles of mine in the form of books. One of my books, Bharatha Geetha was conferred the “Book of the Year” by Muslim Lekhakara Sangha, Karnataka, India.

Last year, I won the Team Mangalore International Kite festival Best Photo award. It was definitely a memorable moment.

My interests

Photography – no doubt.

Reading – Recently I had to pick up reading glasses. That sucks.

Human Life – They make me curious.

My motivations

My wife – She has been my backbone all these years. What would I do without you Dear?

My Kids – Asma, Salman and Hana. Always there to make me feel better.

Nikon D70 S – My Camera that focuses my mind and gives me clarity of thought.

Sounds good eh? Enjoy my blog and join me in my endeavor as I share my discoveries, thoughts and tips here.

Thank you for reading. Sorry if that was boring.
